Pure Oxygen-Based Brewing Equipment Cleaner

100% Sodium Percarbonate is a powerful oxygen-based cleaner for removing dried yeast, wort, tannins, proteins and other organic residue from home brewing, winemaking and distilling equipment.

When dissolved in water, sodium percarbonate releases active oxygen that penetrates and lifts stubborn brewing deposits. It is ideal for routine cleaning of fermenters, kegs, kettles, bottles and brewing systems before applying your final sanitiser.

Available in a convenient 100g sample sachet or economical 1kg pack.

Available Pack Sizes

100g Sample Sachet

The 100g sachet is ideal for testing sodium percarbonate, occasional cleaning jobs or adding to a beginner’s brewing setup.

At a typical rate of 5g per litre, one 100g sachet makes approximately 20 litres of cleaning solution.

1kg Pack

The 1kg pack provides better value for regular home brewers, keg users, winemakers and distillers.

At a typical rate of 5g per litre, one 1kg pack makes approximately 200 litres of cleaning solution.

What Can Sodium Percarbonate Clean?

Use it to clean:

  • Plastic and stainless steel fermenters

  • Cornelius kegs and removable keg parts

  • Brewing kettles and all-grain systems

  • Beer, cider and wine bottles

  • Airlocks, taps and removable fittings

  • Brewing spoons and paddles

  • Distilling and winemaking equipment

  • Tanks and washable brewery surfaces

Always check the equipment manufacturer’s cleaning instructions before use. Avoid unnecessary prolonged contact with aluminium, copper, brass and other soft metals.

How to Use Sodium Percarbonate

Fermenters, Kegs and Tanks

Mix approximately 5g per litre of warm water.

Fully wet or immerse the surfaces being cleaned. Allow the solution time to loosen the brewing residue, then drain and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Kettles and Brewing Systems

Mix approximately 10g per litre of warm water.

Fill, soak or recirculate the solution through the brewing system. Allow sufficient contact time before draining and rinsing thoroughly.

Warmer water speeds up the cleaning reaction. Remove loose debris first and ensure the solution reaches every internal surface.

Is Sodium Percarbonate a No-Rinse Sanitiser?

No. Sodium percarbonate is primarily used to clean brewing equipment and must be rinsed after use.

For reliable brewing hygiene, follow this process:

  1. Remove loose debris and brewing residue.

  2. Clean thoroughly with sodium percarbonate.

  3. Rinse completely with clean water.

  4. Apply a suitable no-rinse brewing sanitiser immediately before use.

Effective sanitising begins with properly cleaned equipment, but cleaning and sanitising remain separate steps.

Does Sodium Percarbonate Remove Hop Oils?

Pure sodium percarbonate is effective against many organic brewing deposits, but it is not the best choice for heavy hop oils or greasy residue.

For difficult hop oils, beerstone or heavily soiled equipment, consider using a formulated brewery cleaner such as StellarClean PBW.
