Premium All Grain Recipe Kit

Brew a bright, refreshing Australian Pacific Ale bursting with passionfruit, citrus and tropical fruit character using the Eclipsed Galaxy Pacific Ale All Grain Recipe Kit from Border Brewing Supplies.

Galaxy hops deliver the unmistakable passionfruit, peach and tropical-fruit aroma associated with Australian Pacific Ale, while Eclipse contributes sweet mandarin, citrus peel and fresh pine. A generous Galaxy dry hop creates a vibrant aroma without overwhelming the beer's light, highly drinkable character.

Pale malt provides a clean base, while flaked wheat and wheat malt contribute a soft mouthfeel, gentle haze and lasting white head. Lallemand Verdant IPA yeast supports the fruit-forward hop character and produces a smooth, rounded finish.

At approximately 4.1% ABV and 25 IBU, Eclipsed Galaxy is flavourful and aromatic while remaining light enough for warm afternoons and relaxed drinking.

Each kit makes approximately 23 litres of beer and is packed to order by Border Brewing Supplies. Choose freshly milled grain or unmilled grain to suit your brewing equipment and preferred crush.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Australian Pacific Ale?

Australian Pacific Ale is a light, refreshing and fruit-forward beer style built around expressive Australian or New Zealand hops.

It generally has a soft malt profile, restrained bitterness and prominent tropical or citrus aroma. Eclipsed Galaxy uses Galaxy and Eclipse hops to create passionfruit, peach and mandarin character.

What does Eclipsed Galaxy taste like?

Expect prominent passionfruit, peach, sweet mandarin and citrus flavours supported by a clean pale-malt base and soft wheat character.

The beer is aromatic and hop-forward but remains lighter and less bitter than most IPAs.

Is this similar to Stone & Wood Pacific Ale?

Eclipsed Galaxy belongs to the same broad Australian Pacific Ale family, with a light wheat-supported body and expressive Galaxy hop character.

This recipe has a more pronounced hop aroma and flavour through the combination of Galaxy, Eclipse, an 80°C hop stand and a generous dry-hop addition.

What hops are included?

The kit includes:

  • 50 g Eclipse

  • 100 g Galaxy

Eclipse provides mandarin, citrus and fresh-pine character. Galaxy supplies passionfruit, peach and intense tropical-fruit aroma.

Do I use all the supplied hops?

Yes. The recipe uses the complete 50 g packet of Eclipse and 100 g packet of Galaxy.

Follow the supplied Brewfather recipe for the correct quantities, temperatures and addition times.

Why are flaked wheat and wheat malt used?

Flaked wheat and wheat malt produce a softer mouthfeel, improve head retention and contribute the gentle haze associated with many Australian Pacific Ales.

They also provide enough body to support the generous hop aroma without making the finished beer heavy.

Why are rice hulls included?

Rice hulls improve wort circulation and help reduce the risk of a slow or stuck sparge caused by the large wheat component.

They contribute no meaningful colour, flavour or fermentable sugar.

Can I choose whether the grain is milled or unmilled?

Yes. Choose freshly milled grain, crushed and packed to order by Border Brewing Supplies, or unmilled grain if you prefer to crush it yourself.

What brewing systems can I use?

This recipe is suitable for most all grain brewing systems, including:

  • Grainfather

  • BrewZilla

  • Guten

  • RoboBrew

  • Brew in a Bag systems

  • Traditional three-vessel systems

The recipe is calculated at 70% brewhouse efficiency and can be adjusted in Brewfather for your equipment.

When should I add the dry hops?

Add 75 g of Galaxy for approximately four days.

Avoid unnecessarily extended dry-hop contact, as this can introduce grassy flavours or excessive hop-derived astringency.

Does this kit include yeast?

Yes. The kit includes one packet of Lallemand Verdant IPA yeast.

Verdant IPA produces a soft, rounded mouthfeel with gentle stone-fruit character that complements Galaxy and Eclipse hops.

Is this recipe suitable for beginners?

Yes, provided you have suitable all grain brewing equipment. The mash schedule is straightforward, and the supplied Brewfather recipe contains the complete brewing and fermentation instructions.

Do I need anything else?

For the best results, consider adding:

  • Whirlfloc Tablets

  • Servomyces Yeast Nutrient

  • Brewing Water Salts

  • Brewing Cleaner

  • No-rinse Sanitiser

These products are available separately.
